In today’s fast paced life, most of the parents are always worried about the influences of media and communication in the lives of their kids. Information is accessible to the children, for any subject they want and this is a cause of concern especially with the world that we live in.

Presently children can be a soft target for many inappropriate influences. And this scenario is increasing the worries of parents. However parents can combat such influences by making sure that children find the inspiration from the correct sources. One such source, that many of us will agree, is the Bible. Introducing Bible to the children can endow them to look at life and judge outside influences.

But Bible can be quite an effort for children to comprehend. But this usual problem can be corrected by Bible games that are educational for your children and helps the firm footing of Biblical teachings in their hearts. These games will teach your children more about the Bible and in turn more about keeping faith in life and on the other hand you will be able to have great time together as a family.

When you look for such games for your children, you will find that there are hundreds of them available in the market. Making a choice can be difficult considering the large assortment, but you can always keep in mind your child’s interest and inclinations. Moreover, you can also choose these game depending on the age of your child.

One of the popular Bible game is the Settlers of Canaan. This game is centered on a Bible story and makes the children to use strategy and team work as well. The game is designed in such a way that children will enjoy the competition, and you will also enjoy the fun of coming up with strategies together and making treaties with each other as well.

Not only these games provide fun, but many of them also teach the children a great deal. One great learning game based on the Bible is the Ten Commandments Board Game. This game is premeditated to help you children learn more about the Ten Commandments and some basic biblical beliefs and values.

Apart from the board games, you can also consider several computer games as many children enjoy computer games more than board games. Moreover the computer games are fun and fresh-faced. It is for sure that these computer games are a great way to teach your kids more about the sacred book.

If you want to be sure that your kids get a spiritual education that is based on the Bible, then you need to start educating them about it and what it has to offer. It is better to remember that there is more to education than what is taught at school. Therefore you can always check out the educational games that are available for your kids.

In the past, parents relied on chalk boards and pens and paper to teach their children the alphabet. With the help of electronic gadgets, a parent can now teach a young child so much more. Children have a variety of things that they can study on their own and only require the help of a parent when they need a machine turned on. These electronic gadgets have helped children prepare for school and many are ready to learn more when school is in session for the first time.

Some of the electronic gadgets that help children learn will operate through a video game system in the home. The teacher in these videos is usually an animated character that is sure to fascinate children and keep their attention trained on their studies for an hour or two. A child can be guided by a digital character on the television screen and that character will be waiting when a child gets up from a nap.

Some of the digital tools that parents can use to train a child are push button, hand held games that a child can use in the back seat of a car. These electronic gadgets are perfect for long road trips because a child is entertained with the programming on these devices. The electronic cards can be quickly changed out and another amusement can be started without any inconvenience at all.

Some electronic gadgets teach children to learn by using multiple choice test questions. This is the method that is most often used in schools and will serve to familiarize the child to testing in schools. By the time a child enters school for the first time they are better adjusted to a learning environment and view school as a fun place where exciting things are learned.

Some children learn to tell time with the help of an electronic clock. Many of these clocks are placed in plastics that are formed like characters like rabbits, turtles, and bears. These electronic gadgets teach kids to be responsible and to be punctual. A child also gets a chance to practice using electronic devices because they need to set the time that they wake up each morning.

Some kids like electronic gadgets because they are amusing. There are many forms of entertainment that use some sort of electronic device to operate them. Children can play outside and learn how to steer wireless automobiles that require a electronic chip to make them do tricks. While a child might learn the basics of driving an auto while using these electronic devices, they are also learning some quick responses because these vehicles do not always respond as someone might expect them too.

Widen thinking on plans to improve children’s learningParents are being urged to think about their homes as learning environments in light of new government plans to help improve the education of children both in and out of school. The call has been made by one of the UK’s leading suppliers of children’s furniture in a bid to help parents look at wider factors which contribute towards effective learning. While the government is focusing on how the parents and extended families have a significant role to play in encouraging children to learn, Aspace is keen to widen the debate to include the importance of the environment in which they learn. The company’s managing director Paul Cunningham thinks the government has not given enough consideration to the peripheral issues which make a significant contribution to the way children learn.“There’s no doubt about it, the surroundings in which children learn are an important factor in how they learn,” said Mr Cunningham.“While it is encouraging to see the government is taking proactive steps to help families think about how they can help their children, they haven’t addressed where they learn in the home.“Even if you put technology issues – such as proliferation of TVs, DVDs, MP3 players and games consoles – to one side, the home environments for many children can often be awash with unintentional distractions and barriers to learning. “And this is where a little lateral thought about what constitutes a good home learning environment could contribute an enormous amount to helping potentially millions of children in the UK having better all-round learning experiences.“We just want to raise the point because we feel it is important that it does become part of the government’s agenda for driving up standards of children’s education.”The ethos of Mr Cunningham’s company, which sells kids furniture directly to the public via its website www.aspaceuk.com and also through its direct mail catalogues, encourages parents to think about the environments they create through the purchases they make.“Parents don’t realise just how much the furniture they buy sets the tone for how their children use the space in their own rooms,” he said.“More so than ever before children’s bedrooms are multifunctional in their usage because they are places where they sleep, play, socialise and study.“Although the parents don’t often recognise it in these terms, kids furniture is both fundamental and pivotal in setting the tempo for how their children behave and react in doing all the things they do in their room.“And getting the balance right so it is conducive to all these purposes is a hard one and that is why getting the theme of the room and the furniture which reflects them is so important – especially as it may be the only dedicated place in the house where a child has the space to learn.”The comments by Mr Cunningham reflect the changes he has seen in the industry since the company started five years ago. In that time the company has thrived after spotting a gap in the market to supply furniture which sits firmly between the cheap functional ranges which are available in retail stores and specialist products which are often out of the price range of most families. It now has a multimillion pound turnover and being in the mid ground has enabled Aspace to source products which are well thought out both in terms of the ergonomic design and the impact they have in determining the atmosphere of a room.Mr Cunningham argues that good quality kids furniture is not expensive and in a lot of cases it can be extremely competitively priced compared with what is often considered to be the bland and uninspiring bog-standard ranges on offer at large retail outlets.“There is growing demand for good, well-made products which are well designed to cater for the variety of functions and activities in a child’s bedroom,” he said.“Coordination is key to this to ensure all the pieces of furniture in the room complement one another so they provide the right functionality so they can be a place to maximise the opportunities of sleep, play and work.”Mr Cunningham’s remarks come as the government has finished consulting on plans to help parents get involved in their children’s learning as part of its drive to ensure that every child gets the best possible start in life. The government is pumping £9 million into helping local authorities to fund the development of fresh ideas on how to connect with parents and help them to help their children.Children’s Minister Beverley Hughes said she knows that parents are central to children’s well-being and that children’s experiences in their early years have a major impact on later life. She added that it is vital that children have a sound basis on which to learn and develop, as well as enjoying time with their parents and that the money the government is making available will see innovative approaches in supporting and encouraging parents to really get involved in their children’s development.

Children today seem obsessed with technology and while I love gadgets and technology myself, with all the advantages that it can bring. I feel we have lost something when our children only play on computer games.

My 3 children each have a ds lite and I frequently see them all sitting on their own, playing on their individual games consoles. You see I am as much to blame as everyone else. When I was growing up, and yes that does make me sound old, I remember very little of my childhood which was not related to games, sitting around at Christmas for example with my family playing cards, trivial pursuits, monopoly etc. I believe playing games is the way for children to learn, they develop life skills by participating and interacting with others.

Turn-taking children’s games are not only fun to play, they’re educational on so many levels, including social and economical.

Kids learn about waiting to take a turn, winning and losing, along with co-operation and economics (with monopoly in mind and handling money), the whole time while they have fun. Games come in and out of fashion, and new games appear, whilst the classics get revamped year after year with new themes and are always popular.

Children’s games are made to stretch the child’s mind and even the parents sometimes, without frustrating the child and turning him or her off the game, thus making learning enjoyable. Most kids games are also quite fun to play with mum or dad, with family games being designed to be entertaining for both children and adults alike.

If you are looking for something to bring a family together, then you can’t go far wrong with any sort of board game. Whilst playing it a family can often get lost inside the game for hours on end.

If you are stuck for what to buy a child as a present then you could do worse than buy a board game. I believe it is one of the best presents you can give, because they bring friends and family together and can provide more hours of fun than any book, DVD, or cd you can find. A board game is a team-building exercise (or team pulling apart exercise if you have been sat around our table on many a heated night) you cannot ignore. It is a way of exercising your mind and social skills are built.

If you sit and examine the rules and the layout of most games, they all have a common feature, you will see they reflect on everyday life. Whether we are playing snap with a game of cards which is teaching us turn taking for example, exercising the mind to keep it alert and helping with learning difficulties, matching numbers and pictures, or trivial pursuits with team building, knowledge learning and strategy development.

Quality educational games are so engaging for most people to play with; children rarely even know they are learning valuable skills, which makes this a fantastic way for them to learn, as information and skills learnt like this, in my opinion, stick in the mind much better than when rules and education is forced.

Today, children’s games are well thought out, they are fun and compete well with the lure of the solitary video game, if only we give them the chance.
